Personalized Job Searches

At First Staff Services you get someone who listens, not an anonymous search engine. Our recruiters strive to form lasting partnerships with job seekers. To that end, we offer a range of services to candidates, including resume editing and interview coaching.

Candidate Q&A

First Staff Services does NOT charge job seekers anything for our services. Our fees are built into the markup we charge our client companies that are seeking temporary talent.

Here are three reasons why you should choose First Staff Services:

  1. We take a personal approach to recruiting, helping you find a position that fits your career goals, whether you’re seeking a short-term position or something more permanent.
  2. Our recruiters have a wide network of clients seeking a variety of talent.
  3. We work with you to fine-tune your resume and interview skills before you meet with employers, giving you the advantage in the interview process.

Contact one of our temporary staffing consultants to explore how First Staff Services can help match you to a position that will meet your short-term (and possibly long-term) career goals. You can also apply to positions directly through our career portal.

After we receive your resume a recruiter will contact you to set up a phone screen. This initial interview is to get a sense of your background and skillset beyond your resume, as well as what kind of positions you might be interested in. If we have a position that seems like a good fit, we will bring you in for a face-to-face interview to go over the job and the company in more detail and to fill out some preliminary paperwork. Then we present your resume to the client and they decide who to interview and when.

Communication is the key with your Temporary Staffing Consultant. Be clear about what you are looking for and be realistic about the salary you require. It’s also important to ask questions. The consultant understands what employers look for and will be able to provide advice on your resume and interviews that will help increase your chances of getting a temporary position.

Our Best Resume Tips

Most employers will not spend more than 30 seconds examining what you have submitted to them. Your resume is but one of 50 or even 100 that are vying for the attention of this employer. This single sheet needs to be very succinct and structured otherwise it will likely be thrown out.

Nail Your Interview

Interview preparation should start long before you shake hands with a potential employer. Nothing is more impressive to an interviewer than a candidate who is well composed and well informed. As soon as you have scheduled an interview you should start preparing.
